AV&R is a Quebec engineering company specializing in robotics that is recognized worldwide and that works in the fields of aerospace, energy and orthopedics.


As a technical estimator, you work within the Sales and Customer Resources group and are in contact with customers and other groups within AV&R such as administration, engineering, robotic finishing, automated visual inspection, R&D, software and legal. You apply the proposal process; from the moment an opportunity is identified until the proposal is issued.

You are responsible for the client opportunities assigned to you. You ensure the accuracy of the costs of the products/services offered and the final quality of the proposals in order to maintain the brand image and the high level of professionalism of AV&R as well as the satisfaction of AV&R customers. You need to fully understand the customer’s process and needs in order to find the best way to apply our solutions.

  • Carry out the stages of the proposal process with all the parties involved (internal and external)
  • Write customer proposals within established deadlines
  • Ensure that the best technical solution is presented to the customer in line with their needs
  • Assist the business development representative during client communications and throughout the proposal process
  • Use customer relationship management (CRM) software to track opportunities
  • Consult the legal department for any legal issue, throughout the proposal process
  • Communicate any non-standard elements of a proposal to the proposal manager
  • Communicate relevant information (administrative or technical) to the various AV&R groups
  • Perform any other related tasks


  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical, Automated Production, Software, or relevant experience
  • 2-5 years experience in automated systems
  • Diverse knowledge of mechanical/electrical/automated production/software engineering
  • Rigour
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once, deadlines and pressure
  • Fluent in French and English, spoken and written
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to adapt to international customers
  • Valid driver’s licence
